Mendoza, Argentina.
100% old vine Petit Verdot, farmed with organic practices in Argentina's Maipú department, by a small, relatively young company run by three siblings, with chief winemaker María Eugenia Baigorria supported by her brothers' business expertise. The grapes for this vintage come from the family's property in the Uco Valley, with a passionate emphasis on the particularities of the terroir setting them apart from their many neighbors.
Over a year in French oak matures the "green" character of the grape, with elegant results. Aromas of black fruit, seedy berry and bushy herbs open into a palate of soft, rich tannins, dark fruit and slight, refined and savory smokiness. A wine that welcomes pairings, but most beautifully with a great steak cooked simply over fire.
